This was the first 4k of the year for us! It was such a beautiful day out for it. We snowshoed up and (attempted) to slide down on trash bags. It was so much fun!
We took the famous Crawford Path (trail head beginning in the parking lot at the beginning of Mt. Clinton Rd).
We wanted to take the Mizpah cut-off to the hut and make a loop, but we got about 20 ft up and had to turn around. There was no trail nor anyway to figure out where the trail went, it just ended.
But at this break in the trail we met a very friendly Gray Jay!
I fed him some Honey Oat granola
Continuing up Crawford path, it began getting a little bit slushy (more so on the way down). It was better just to bare boot it.
Right outside the treeline!
